Summary:This book is placed in 1920 in the city of Paris, France. Our narrator is a man named Jake who knew our other main character named Robert Cohn. He knew him because they were tennis buddies. In the beginning of the book they described Robert. He was a middleweight boxing champion at Princeton. He was very fast in the ring and outside the ring he was a very shy person who liked to write books and wanted them to be someday published. He was married but she left him for a painter early on. Later on he got remarried to a woman named Frances. Jake we find out later has this little "fling" with a girl named Georgette. He was afraid to kiss her cause he was "sick." (by: caleb and Jesse)
Summary 2: Brett has a thing with Jake, Robert, and Mike. She is lookings more and more like a loose women. First she says she is going to marry Mike. But then she goes off with Robert to San Sebastion. When they come back, Jake finds out and is toying with Robert acting like he has no idea. Robert is freaking out because he doesnt know if anyone knows about him and Brett. Brett has also told Jake that she is in love with him but can't be with him. We also meet a friend of Jake's, Bill. Bill is from the states. Bill isnt really fond of Robert because he is nice but Bill doesnt like the way he carries himself. Later on Bill and Jake go fishing in Spain. (Caleb Jesse Billy)
